New Rear Window Slider - good products?

Post by grantorinosport »

National Parts Depot advertises a new rear window slider assembly (I assume kit minus seal) for $112.

My existing one has broken latches, moss growing on the inside....

This is part of a larger effort to eliminate the moisture ingression that I believe is the #1 problem with the truck currently.

Is getting a new rear slider like that the best method? Does anyone have experience with them of whether they are good/bad?

I had a rear slider (like you) that was damaged and in need of replacement. I went back and forth for a while, but decided on a solid rear window. I finally decided to go without a slider because its a little more theft deterrent to have solid. However, I think if you were wanting the slider for camper access or wind flow, a new slider from just about anywhere should be good enough to keep moisture out.

Only thing I didn't like about the new sliders (all the ones that I saw, at least), was that they have black trim. I wanted the silver aluminum trim and I eventually found a never before used old one.

Got a slider from the junkyard for $10. No latches. No one has broke in yet. (Knock on Wood)

Im thinking I bought the slider from npd as well..least I'm pretty sure it was them..Ill have to go check the box.. but it did not come with the rubbers.. even though the sales man assured me that it came with everything I would need.. had to place another order for that after I got it..so its still not in the cab yet..course I'm waiting for some paint first..
