67 booster hits the valve cover

Post by 67f250_irv »

I have a 67 F250 with a 460 and tall aluminum valve covers. The original 7" booster clears the valve cover fine. Now I am trying to replace the booster and everywhere I check, they list a 9" booster for the 67 (Advance, NAPA, and KOI). I think I have seen others experience this. Anyone have any ideas where to get a 7" or have any other ideas to use the 9"?
As always...THANKS!!!!

Out of curiosity I ran a search and came up with this.

It might be worth a try. :)

the reason it is hitting the valve cover is becasue a 460 with large valve covers wasnt an option in 67. so they know you can use a 9 inch booster with a 352 with regular covers. so that is whats going on. to fix this you can do what the others suggeted or get different valve covers.

I'm sort of hoping I get the 9" booster... it should give me a little more brake than the 7", so it'll be awesome if it fits right.

As mentioned before, you might check out Master Power. They are expensive, but have a great rep. The booster linked on ebay looks like one of theirs, so that place may be a dealer or something.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between a 67 f100 brake booster and a 67 f250 brake booster?

Thanks...
