Question about tires!

Post by Georgia71 »

When I,m finished working on my truck I would like to use it like a truck! With this being said, I grew up on a farm and the truck I have spent most of it's time there. I remember my Dad had what he called mud grip tires on the back. Some people around here also called them ground grippers! I had some on my 1990 ford ranger in the late 90's. But I don't see them much anymore. I have spotted some on the cooper tire website. They are the courser traction LT tires for light trucks. Do any of you know of anyone else making these tires?

Goodyear also makes some pretty aggresive treads for light trucks.I don't know if the regular Goodyear dealers carry them but the commercial tire centers do.

I don't have the BFG All Terrains on my truck but I have them on my Jeep and they are darn good tires. A little pricy but a good tire non the less. They take me and my Jeep anywhere and get me home too. I would recomend those or the Yokohama Geolander HT/S. Those are what I have on my '68 and I like 'em. They don't have as agressive a treat as the BFG's but they are a good tire for more street use.

Larry,

We just put Goodyear Wranglers on the wife's Expedition last week.

Yeah, I had to give them the birth certificate to my first born as far as cost!
But the warranty and road hazard are the best in the industry too.

But, always wanted the wife to be able to pull off the side of the road without getting stuck either.

I've had my BFG all terrain T/A's for just over a year now, 235/85/16's got em for 99 bucks each, i can't think of a negative thing to say about em, they wear great and love the snow, but maybe i'm biased, no pun intended :D
