Converting to power steering

Post by tuscarora »

I have a 1970 F-250 truck and want to convert it to power steering. I found a 1978 F-250 with power steering. I bought the steering gear box, pump, bracket, and hoses. Should I grab anything else from the parts truck? I read the link converting to power steering 4wd. I read that this should be an almost bolt up job, but what modifications will need to be made. I greatly appreciate any help in this matter.

Is your truck a 2WD or 4WD? If it's 2WD, this is the tutorial you should've read instead, and it'll be a true bolt-on, no modifications necessary at all:
