windshield gasket question
Can someone tell me price of a front windshield gasket from NPD? I've been trying all day to get on their site, but for some reason I can't get it to load. I have prices from LMC but wanted some to compare with. My local glass installer says $84 + $100 to pull and reinstall.

Wildcard,
I just tried to get on NPD too with no luck, (guess the website is down).
DC wants $75.00 for the one that accepts the chrome trim.
Sounds like a decent price to me for install.
Or try this:

re: windshield gasket question
Thanks basketcase. I'm going with a professional installer though. He said it was about a 3 hour job, which a lot quicker than I could do it in. Now I have to find time off to get it done since it's my daily driver. And I really hate to drive my wifes Pontiac and the Taurus needs an oil pump.

re: windshield gasket question
It took me less than 3 hours to do my own. Cooltoolguy came over and gave me a hand. If you do try it yourself, make sure it is centered really good before you start pulling the cord out. It is hard to push out and redo.

re: windshield gasket question
How about putting it back in? I've done a rear slider before, no big deal, but I've never done a front.

Did you do that yourself? Trying to figure out the best way to get a rear window out, I found a slider I might try to nab tomorrow, but never pulled a rear window before. Tips and tricks appreciated!sargentrs wrote:How about putting it back in? I've done a rear slider before, no big deal, but I've never done a front.

Paul if the gasket is hard just use the sheet rock knife to cut it out following the window opening flange.

re: windshield gasket question
I just had my windshield replaced dumbass kids with rocks I took mine to glass masters costed me $220 I have the trim and still do (14 broken windshields, 4 gaskets and 3 days later) I only paid for the one thats in it now
. If you go with a professinal I would stay there until it is done they tried to just put in a gasket with no trim grove after that I nit picked them to hell because they just couldn't get the trim in. When I was as satified as I could be I took it home with a lifetime warranty chrome is in great now and I'll never have to worry about the windshield again. It took awhile but it is right now
