in bed tool box removal -found the trick to getting them out

im stuck removing the inbed tool box from my 69 ranger. i cant get the big huge screws in the bed loose. how are you suppose to get this thing off?!

is it rusted or is it just tight? if its rusted spray some pb blaster on the bolts and let it sit for a while. if its just tight use a breaker bar and maybe a cheater pipe if you have to.

well its not really the tightness, its the fact that we dont even have a phillips that huge. its is painted over too, so i will give it a squirt.

ok you need one of those impact drivers also. you seen that thread about those didnt you. it was in the engie forum

well i just learned what an inpact driver is :D
but still, i dont think the impact drivers will have a philips head this huge. i took a pic but you cant see how big it is in the pic. so its not worth posting

Can you cut it from the underside with a torch?

i tried to get a pic of the size of the srewdriver head on one my impact drivers and it was just a black blur blob. i am sure it will work if you use it. go down to the store and check one out. you can probably see the bits it uses . that will tell you wheather or not it will work. im sure it will.

Please refrain from using words like "torch" when talking to my 14 yr old. Remember, this truck is in a structure adjacent to my flammable house. Actually, having once owned a muffler shop, I would love to get a nice torch setup for the house. It would save money on penetrating oil when dealing with those rusty bolts!! And, Ryan, I might still have my old impact driver in the bottom drawer of my tool box.
