Post by pfijma »

Hello,

I'm paul from the Netherlands.
I need a ps pomp pulley for my '69 F100 with a 360 engine
Don't know wich to use.
I found out the partnr. C7AZ-3A733-(suffix-letter.)
My problem is that I don't wich suffix letter is suitable for the 360 engine.
Thanks

i dont think i would worry about the suffix. its a minor revision of the part. if you got a a suffix that would fit as well as another suffix. check these pages. http://www.fordification.com/schematics-c.htm none of them show the suffixes but do show the part numbers

im pretty sure they all will fit. the only difference would be the size of it i think. you will want one about 6 inches across. i think i know where one is. i will check and see. the pump is probably bad since its been in hte weather though. so the pulley will be good to reuse.

A C9 part number would be technically correct.
C=60, 9 standing for the 9th year of the 1960's decade.
For a 1967, it would be C7. But the 360 wasn't introduced until 1968.
For a 1968, it would be C8.
For a 1969, C9.
For a 1970, D0.
For a 1971, D1.
See how the code works?

I don't know the answer to your question Paul, but just wanted to give you a heads-up that power steering pulley removal requires a special puller tool so you won't bend the pulley itself. And, there is a way to reinstall the new pulled using a threaded bolt and large washer to pull it back into place. Good luck in your search, Banjo.

Paul,

Banjo's right on the method.

I just replaced my pump.
And once again, (the last time I tried this was 1976) I tried to pull the pulley off myself.
I've got some rock hard pullers for A/C stuff and a lot of other types of pullers.

No luck! Stopped right before I broke a $175.00 jaw type puller.

Machine shop price $35.00 labor,
Happy owner of a bump with new PS pump...

Priceless!
