I believe he is talking about just dropping the Liability insurance on the vehicle, as it is not being driven.

I do this with my Mustang when I store it over the winter and I have a my bump and a couple others that just have Comp insurance on them as they are not being driven... That way they are covered if a tree falls on them, or theft or fire…
The liability part is the Biggest cost of insurance...

also lots of different things recommended :D

from what has been said i think i will try selling it like it is now, and if it doesnt sell then continue spray painting the whole thing, but without taking the bed off. :dk:

oh and the reason i chose the 71 over the 69 is...
1)the 69 will be alot safer when its finished, since i wwant to redo everything to do with brakes (it seems like weve tried everything on the 71)
2)the 69 will ride better since its a f100
3)i just got the 69
4)the PO wants it to go to a good home and not be trashed
5)the 69 is a 69, i like the 69 year more
6)the 69 has only 63,000 original miles
7)i know the 69's story, and previous family.
8)the BIGGY- the 69 has very very little rust
9)the 69's engine runs very strong still

theres some reasons :)
i still wont like selling it :(

I see that now LOL When it comes to breaks I take mine to a shop!! I woud not wanna fuge any thing up and kill my self. Befor I woud sell the 71 I woud think long and hard about taking it to a shop! If I was going to buy that truck I woud make sure it has good breaks be for I even put a foot in the truck. Mine lock up!!!!!! its a 71 f 100! I have to ride my breaks tell they warm up, Once there hot there ok! and I only have to do that when its damp out! Might be some watter is just hanging out in the rear drums!!

Well I take that back I was just thinking about the other day I was moveing it and the break was locking up and its has been dry for some time. I just ride the break all in the yard and they stopd

Why I said take it to a shop sense you can't fix the breaks, You might have some one really wanting it BUT they can't drive it to see how it does down the road. That might be your MAKE OR BREAK POINT on some one buying it! Who ever buys some thing with out test driveing it frist is kind of crazy!! thats if will drive!!! or safe to drive Any was I wish you luck!

its not THAT bad. as long as the driver doesnt give quite a bit of force to the pedal it wont lock. and driving around the block is mostly pretty flat.

my brother has a habit of slowing down until the last moment, and we were coming down a hill, and turning.

most of this has been gone over in the other thread :D

[
quote="fordman"]if the paint job isnt that great. it might be best just to primer the whole thing grey. that would be better than a bad spray can job i think.
[/quote]

the only problem with gray primer is it is not a sealer so the water can penetrate causing real bad rust problems. :2cents:

offer it up like that and for a few extra hundred bucks you will finish it if they so desire.

In primer or in amature paint, someone who is going to restore the truck will have to do a lot of prep work to get it ready for professional paint. From a sales perspective, the truck will be more likely to sell quickly and for more money if you finish it. All primer will really hurt the selling price, at least from my experiance. For a lot of people amature paint will be more desireable than no paint. Just 2 cents from a guy who has owned and sold a lot of old beaters!
