I am thinking about putting a shell or cap on my "68". I am guessing they are universal fit. I mean if your bed is ? x ? and the shell is ? X ? it should fit right?
I have been watching craigs list and the prices are pretty wide spread from $50 to $750. The $750 one had a side window missing???? Not sure what that was all about but it must be a nice one LOL.
Has anyone bought one new recently? I am leaning towards a fiberglass unit rather than the aluminium.
Any pitfalls I should watch out for?

re: New Shell
Merlin,
I've had both aluminum and fiberglass.
My aluminum leaked like a WWII german submarine.
It was pretty old though...
My fiberglass was too heavy for me alone to lift it off the truck, (but made a nice "base camp" for hunting expeditions.
And like fordman said they are all different widths/lengths, (I actually had a chebby "glass" one on my dent that made the bed area look like crap).
Far as I know, Ford's bed area have always been larger than chebby's.
They sure do come in handy!
