When one is removing set of Junior West Coast mirrors (the small Fomoco 2 mount, not the larger 3 mount full size West Coast mirrors), There are 2 metal clips like look like made of lead or so left in the door. And they spin. If you try to pull up on one, it pulls the door metal with it. There is a lip on it, so you cannot push it through. I am converting to smaller factory sport mirrors (like Mustang slightly larger), and want to take these things out of the door before I mount my mirrors.
I'm calling it a lead slug or mount clip, those who have removed their mirrors will immediately recognize my description (hope) as I have no dig camera, and even if I did, I'm not smart enough to figure it out (not good w/computer things though I can type fast). I'm guessing I need to drill, drill, drill, drill, drill, etc, etc. and drill some more? Banjo.

Banjo,
If its what I think it is, there is actually a nut on the inside of the door that you can reach up to if you remove the interior door panel.

Dan, I'll have to look for that, don't know if a nut in there or not. Banjo.

Got a grinder? Grind it down flush, and it will probably fall through. Then you can start figuring out how you will fill the hole
