What is the thread count/size of tailgate trim fasteners

I'm trying to put on a XLT tailgate panel. I took one of the J-clips from the back of it up to the hardware store to match it up to some fasteners and nothing was matching up from standard or metric. What is the deal. It seems like it was between 6-32 and 8-32. Can anyone pull one of their fasteners and tell me what size it is?

do you need the clips or the screw or both and how many do you want. i have a junk one i was going to trash soon.

let me get them off first. i havent always had good luck getting those off.

Fordman just PM'd me telling me that the fasteners that he pulled were 8-32 and 3/4" long pan head philips.

yea sorry i couldnt save any of them. the heads just srtipped when i tried to take then out.

i know. i have gotten one off before though. i got all but one screw out without having to damage the screw.
