Is a sway bar worth it?

I'm debating on a fron sway bar for my '69 F100. Is it worth $200? What the best route, find a stock one from a junk yard or buy an aftermarket one?

arent they suppose to be good for towing? are you going to be doing much of that?

I did it it' worth it. I also used KYB gas Shocks and get many compliments on the ride and drive.

here's the front of the later style, seen from above the frame. This is the one you want if running headers.

It shows the newer style front sway bar from a '71 F-250 CS..
It has been removed and will be installed on my '68 in the near future

if you can wait a few days i found one of these and will be taking it off to resale to anyone who wants it. it looks just like the one kieth posted.

i'll go pull it off that truck. and then i'll get back with you. i'll get some pics to. it has the midship fuel tank too. i'm going to try and get the tank for my truck.

ok then i guess dan is up for it then. it was raining today so i didnt go out and try to get it off in the frozen mud. i am going tomorrow though.

I've had a Hellwig front bar on my '69 F-100 SWB for about 15 years now and I've been happy with it. I'll go for a rear at some point. You can't beat anti-sway bars for handling improvements with little-to-no sacrifice in ride quality (I personally think that it improved ride quality on my truck).
