All I know about mine was it was used for deer hunting. First mod I did was take out the gun rack before I impaled myself!

Man I love those gunracks. It's a great place to carry your 4 foot level and hang an extra cap or two.

My dads 71 was bought new, by an old guy that owned a farm, and died shortly after he bought it. It sat in a shed until the guys wife died, and was auctioned to a used car dealership, which repainted the outside with some good pearl white paint, then my dad bought it in 1991 and used it as his daily driver to work and to haul aircraft engines till 1999, when we moved up here... . My 72 was just used to haul a camper all of its life then was sold to a dealership in Branson MO, and I got it.

Willobilly has it going on. It's just like they say on the Antique Roadshow, you got to have the provenance to bring in the big bucks. I have a friend of a friend that shows his old panhead at bike shows and bills it as the original bike that Clark Gable rode in Gone With the Wind.

Provenance and patina are words that shouldn't be in any good rednecks vocabulary. And we shouldn't know the difference between mauve and fuscia, or camel and taupe. (According to Jeff Foxworthy anyway)

As far as my 68, I'm the 2nd owner. The original owner
was a guy I worked with, "he died last year", and he bought
it supposably new at Jack Roach Ford in Houston. This would
naturally be in 68 or so...It either already had the utility bed,
or was installed on it, at that time...It's been an A/C repair
truck almost all it's life, and still is at times...
At that same time he bought the truck, he also bought a 68
mustang, with a 6 cyl, and standard as a pleasure vehicle..
He sold that about 8-9 years ago...I would have grabbed it
up too, except he didn't tell me he was trying to sell it, until
it was already sold... The 68 has a DSO to New Orleans.
That may have been where the ute bed was installed...
Otherwise, it was a K.C. truck as far as the factory.. MK

My 72 F100 Ranger XLT Was Farm all it's life until 2003.Th first owner bought it From A dealership In Kansas City,KS. And was itself a KC Truck.
Built At the KC Factory.The farmer used it for the first twenty years.He Died of Cancer in early 92. His wife was moving in with their Oldest Son.
So she sold it to My sisters Father In Law in 92 and he drove it until I bought it from him for $450.00.

He was trading his 79 chevy in for an 87 chevy short wide. And was not going to need it any more but i needed it. And my sisters 96 neon died and he offered it for sale However bro-in law didn't want it so i said "I'll By it and you can use it until you get something else running" I had had 2 uncles a grandfather and and a great uncle all owning one at one point. And Was not realy thrilled with ford(used to leave in chevy land)Had 3 fords, an 81 T-bird P.O.S., and and an 84 Tempo and later an 87 Topaz All three lemons. But Old Betty(BEUATRICE! When she won't start)Has Done earned My Love.Oddly enough She is only 9 Years older than myself!.......Older Women.... , Anyways I Love Her.

Dad bought the '69 used in '70 - probably had less than 10K on the odo. He used it for typical suburban home improvement projects, and also when we built our house in Winder, GA. 200,000 miles later, I bought it from him, and it's now my farm truck. It gets worked harder now than it ever did, except maybe when we moved my Dad back to GA from TX, and had the truck loaded to the gills and pulling an 18' sailboat behind, also loaded to the gills.

One memory sticks in my mind - when we were in grade school, we had a really cold morning once (cold for Georgia), and Dad crowded eight or nine of the kids on our block in the truck to take us to school (we normally walked, rode bikes or caught the bus).

I am the fortunate 2nd owner of a retired oversized camper hauler. Used only 2 or 3 times a year until the kids grew up and moved away. So I was told. Only 93,000 when I bought it back in 1991.

ok, first the truck was bought new by my uncle friends father, then my uncle bought it from him, drove it till he commited suicide <its suspicious>. Then my uncle's friend the son of the original owner bought it back after the funeral. Anyway it stayed in his hands till he divorced his wife then his son got hold of it. banged her up really good, i tell you theslogan built ford tough is applicable. Its got frame damage but i still drive it like it is. anyway my mom talked about how she saw the truck sitting in the driveway like it was not being used. So we stopped by one day and asked about it, turns out he blew the clutch (later i figured out why) so i bought it in pieces for 300. Let me tell i knew nothing of vehicle's or mechanical things i was full of chilton book of automotive repair THEORY. I learned the hard way over 2 years but was short of funds and tools and experience. messed up alot but now i've had her going for about 8 months driving daily. now i am in the process of painting it and will offer my experience to the board. how do i feel? it was an accoplisment to get it fixed i learned alot. am happy with what i gained from it. and now am working on the apperance and kinks.. hope this was interesting read:)
