See if Sherman Williams has a site and look for an auto paint chip section and find aqua and compare from there . just the lighting where the truck is sitting make it hard to compare. I went back and looked at the mag and it looks 2 different colors in two different pics there as well.

yeah if you look at all the pics of this truck, it looks like several different shades of blue. its sherwin not sherman according to the truck owner person. i had to double check that.

there are no auto paint sections. i could contact them though

now that is what it looks like. good find.
i still dont see why he said "The factory Ranger two-tone paint was matched" though.

a little editing,
wind blue on the truck:

should be right, since sample may be faded.

Now take the number from the brocher and input them in the Sherman william site and see what you get. This is what i came up with.
In link do not put in color code(b 2403) leave blank
model year:1972
Manufacturer: Ford(DUH)
Model: Ford truck
Color: Wind Blue
Vehicle part: exterior
http://www.sherwin-automotive.com/formu ... detail.cfm

the info i copied and pasted below will come up in their format and make more sense

Vehicle Part: Exterior MFG: Ford Trk Show Model's

Model Year: 1972 Color Name: wind blue
There are 2 records.
MFG Exterior Code Accent Code Formula Vehicle Part Color Name Year(s)
Ford Trk 3B 11316,3232,4374,51060,51060 Exterior Wind Blue 72 - 74
Ford Trk M3429A 11316,3232,4374,51060,51060 Exterior Wind Blue 72 - 74

= Denotes Tu-Tone Color

I think that truck is Grabber Blue...

There is also Swiss Aqua on some years. And of course Bahama Blue on later models.

It is awful hard to judge from pictures...

For comparison, my firewall is painted with Sikkens mixed to 1972 Bahama Blue.

Hold on a min!!! If you still have some of the old paint in good shape like the back side of the glove box door, You can take that to a auto paint store and they can put a lazer on it and get it dead on!! Or you can look at all the paint they can do and get a custom one!!

We had to put a lazer on my glove box door and the paint we got is from ppg and you can't get any closer then what I got.
