Pie Cut Hood

sitting here thinking aboout the line msd drew. if you kept the bottom part of the hood and cut the pie out fo the part above the line you could putt he original bottm of the hood back onto the truck. if you done it right you could reweld the inside back to it self also and solve the structure problems.

Fordman-I have concidered that and it may work although I think it may cause problems at the front of the hood due to the way that the hood curves up at the front edge.I am off work for a couple of days and plan to do some measuring and looking. I am going to try this but it will probably be spring before I get to it,I want to get the drivetrain done first.One thing at a time.

Lightning-I will for sure take pics. I am probably getting ahead of myself on this though. Headers,ported heads-exhuast side,intake,carb.,timing chain (460 smog dog).When I get the drive train up to snuff well start on the body,Hope Santas good to me this year

from the looks of the pics in that last link the hood nose cone was completely taken off of that truck. im no wondering how he got the hood latch back on.

Baling wire,oops I forgot thats only for the bowties!!!! The hood latch will be one of those head scratchers,The green 71 used one from a Volvo

just brainstorming here but.... the slick hoods kinda look like that im wondering if they can interchange somehow and still match up with the the rest of the front end....
