its been a while since iv been on here but didn't someone put a 67-72 swb truck body onto a grand marque frame? i found a 77 G-M with a 460 (running-driving) for $500. btw i also have a 85 LTD chassis i can use also..if that would be better
or would it be easier to use the frame its on and swap everything out.
if it helps this truck is getting bagged..and a semi built 460..
if there is a better way to build this im open to suggestions
thanks for all the help in advance!
pic of what im working with..
Can't say for FOMOCO products, but I checking into for GM, as I had a similar tank and was going to prop body up and roll chassis out from under (Buick) to put under some other vehicle and at least GM went to a "perimeter" frame, which means it's way over right underneath rocker panel as far to the outside as possible. So, it's not like older GMs. Can't comment about Ford products, but that's what I'd check, how far inboard are the frame rails. I'm sure if those were in fairly close proximity, anything can be shortened with cutting/welding the frame and I'm guessing Grand Marquis frame longer than SWB bumpside.
I believe you can, I can't remember the guys screen name on here to save my life. He used a GM, but a 90's model. He had mentioned they never did change really, maybe a couple differences but from mid 70's-2007 they have yet to change drastically.

sooooo...iv changed my mind on the GM frame now i need something for the front, how hard and expensive is it to do the mustang 2? front end on one of these trucks? is there a kit, is it bolt in?
i dont know if it would work for a bump, but i met a slick60's member and he was looking for a newer crown vic with an aluminum crossmember and suspension setup that i guess bolts up to the same dimensions, my idea, because my brother has a 67 country squire that has the same wheel base length as my lwb bump... my idea was to find another one and see if i could use the whole setup from that car, it has 4 link rear suspension, and IFS, and since its basically a galaxie im sure i could find parts for it.
I got something cooking for you guys wanting to lower your trucks without i beams but I don't want to let the dog out just yet until I instal the kit on a truck and drive it. I am currently looking for some one that would like for me to use their truck for the test.

do we have to be close? ill donate mine if not...
any one person that can drive their truck to my back yard is welcome. Almost forgot, the truck must be 70-72 since 67,68,69 crossmembers are different than 70,71,72. I was only able to get a 70-72 crossmember but I will build one for 67-69 trucks too.
