Surface Rust?

Hey Guys........ I have some surface rust in the bed of my '69....... Its not a lot now but as you guys know, it will be later. What do you guys recommend is the best and easiest way to solve the rust problems?

Nice truck stangman.

Sandpaper and a sanding block or a wire wheel. Then cover it with primer or paint.

I was dealing with surface rust a while back and couldn't get it all off with just abrasives. Finally found a solution using Naval Jelly in combination with abrasives and it worked great. See my post:

Bondo makes a product called "One Step." It's a spray on product that stops rust and chemically converts it. I have used it many times and really like it. Follow the directions, and then primer and paint over it.

He flyboy how many cans of ONE STEP do you think it will take to cover my entire truck? :lol: I'm really getting tired of cleaning it every time the suface rust appears.
