Maybe the 250 refers to a tooling number and has nothing to do with the load rating on the truck.

Here's the number from a '67 2WD LWB frame:

I woulda sworn I had some pics of other PN's from other years and configurations, but I can't find them right now.

I just bought a 67 swb frame in virgina to replace the one on my 68 and its got the numbers on at least 3 different spots on the frame..when I looked at the 68 I couldnt find any in the same spots or even near them. I even sanded the paint off i nthe areas just to see if it was buried under it. :?

i wonder why the different part numbers? did the frame have an addition to it between the 67 number and the 69 number.

I couldn't tell you exactly why....it could've been something as minor as additional holes being drilled for mounting accessories.

Of course, there are going to be different frames (and thus different numbers) for 2WD, 4WD, LWB, SWB, F100/F250/F350, etc.
