I have 68 ranger, we are removing the cab and everything to start painting. I have found a 76 mustang cobra car for 500.00 is there a kit to put the mustang 2 steering on my ranger? I have seen the drop twin I beam arms but I would like to adapt this to my truck. Also I built a 68 302 engine for my ranger I ended up with a 14-1 compression ratio. I have heard I can install 351 heads using studs. any technical advice would be a great help. if you need help with your john deere I can do that
thanks Mike

fatman fabrication make a crossmember kit to install mustang II suspension. i think they are about $350.00 give or take. as far as your engine goes if it is 14 to 1 you are not going to be able to run pump gas. the 351w head will bolt right on if you use the correct bolts or stepped washers. arp makes the coorect ones for it. the 302 uses 7/16" bolts and the 351w has 1/2" holes in the head.

How are you coming on that crewcab? Didn't you have some trouble with vandals or something? Are you going to chop it? Sorry to hijack but give us an update.customcrewcab wrote:yea my truck has a mustang II under the front

Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

re: mustang 2 steering for my '68 ranger
i am not chopping anything else. after all the work i have in the bed i don't think i want to chop anything else for awhile. with the 3 inch cowl hood it makes the roof look much shorter. the roof really not tall anyways.
i have thought about and who know is might happen but i really want to get it back on the road. and thinking about all the glass windows that would need to be cut down dosn't make me anyone willing to start that right now. i hate having it sit and my ford focus is just not somthing i like driving.
