MustangSteve signing in...

Post by MustangSteve »

Found the site, read the 67 SWB buildup, looking forward to learning alot here. I have been a Mustang "expert" and forum host (google on FYIFORD) for years, but I have alot to learn about trucks. I also am looking forward to using the PARTS WANTED and FOR SALE forums to round up whatever I need. And I bet some of you also own a Mustang or two, so maybe I can help you out as well.
So far, I have a LWB 68 Custom Cab (360 w/ AC) that I bought from the original owner for $200 and a $2,000 67 SWB (240-6) plain jane. I plan to cut the frames of both trucks behind the cab and stick the SWB rear frame and bed on the Cusatom Cab truck, and vice-versa. I will then keep the SWB truck since the cab and front end is in perfect shape.
Unless anyone in the Dallas, TX are has a SWB frame they want to get rid of!

Welcome aboard!
Why not simply swap cabs and engines? It would probably be easier, and everything will fit just fine.

I was going to switch cabs, but the SWB has bent frame horns up front. Must have been hit lightly from the side. Straightened but the other one is perfect. No rust, no dings, no errors!

I've lurked on your site for years and have gotten some great info and advice related to my 68 Cougar. Your site and Keith's here are two of my favorites and have the most helpful members on the web.
