steering column question

Post by Pipes71 »

Just picked up a bunch of stuff for my truck today, amoung these were a steering column from a 79 with tilt steering and cruise control on the steering wheel. If I decide to keep this wheel what else do I need to use the cruise on it?. The column seems to just have the normal wire harness connected.Nothing special I saw for cruise in the housing. Of course I am not sure what to look for.Any help would be great.I didnt pay much for the column, it came with the disk brake parts to swap onto my truck, rear leafs and shocks and few other things for 350.00. So if its going to be a pain I just wont use the cruise wheel.I'm just curious.

you'll need the deal under the hood that pulls on amd releases the throttle.

the box on the inside of the firewall.

and the wrirng to go with it.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

only if you want cruise on your truck. if not you can change the horn pad to a regular pad and ignore some of the cruise wiring under the column.
