Hello, new to FE in KC

Post by sourbluff »

Jeep guy who was shopping for axles and ended up bringing home F100 4x4. Of course not sure what exactly I have as nothing seems to match.

I think I am starting to narrow it down but would appreciate some input from those who know more than me (umm thats just about anyone).

VIN on drivers door F10AKA61661 that is a 2wd with 6 cyc built in Dec of 66?

VIN on passenger frame rail F11YKG732 that is a 4wd with 360 built in Oct of 69?

Code on intake is C6AE 9425-G.

Where do I find code on heads?

What about the block without having it out?

Ok the beast, what is it worth? I already bought it, just want to make sure did not get screwed to bad. No bed, cab is fairly solid. Some rust passenger floor board, it will need to be replaced. The rail near back of cab is rusted on both sides but solid rest way across. Cab mount at front of driver door is rusted through. Passenger inner fender well is a gonner. Bit of rust both lower corners of passenger door and spot at bottom of passenger fender where meets door. Some sort of lift that includes blocks and ******* pack in rear (unless these came with 11 leafs) and body lift in front. Set of 33 Coopers with less than quarter tread on crome rims that REALLY need polish. Warn lock outs. No power steering or AC. 4wd works and she runs. In fact I drove her about 15 miles or so home although I forgot to make sure she had enough coolant so got a bit warm. I don't think the grill is 70? Or maybe the visors for that matter? Have pics of all this same location as link below.

Sorry to vomit all over on my first post but kind of excited about this truck :D

By the grille, it's a '68.
'69's had a depression running the length of the center bar.

if the vin plate says it was built in 66, then its a 67. somebody could have swapped in the chrome 68 grill.
here's the vin decode page.

thout a bed
i would put your truck right around 1500 on the high end, the rust issues really knock it down though, plus with out a bed on it.

Welcome Looks like a nice rig you have there. I am not sure how much 4X4's ussually go for but some one here should. If you need parts just put the word out most of the time someone will have it or know where to get it. :fr:

Wow thanks for the warm welcome. Restoration of this may move a bit slow as I am also building a Jeep offroad toy. How would this truck peform as a tow rig for say 5000# vehicle and trailer? To much to ask of the half ton?
