Hello from Canada!

Post by James72 »

Hi everyone, I just got a '72 crew and was told to check out this site. As you can see I've got my work cut out for me. The frame's not bent it's the rusted cab mounts, the interior and engine were done by the previous owner he left the "easy" part to me (he says). The plan is to go with 7.3 turbo diesel and a 5 speed from a '94 (non DI), King Ranch seats, black paint, gun metal flames, small lift and no decision on wheels yet. I figure if I put 10-15Gs into this it'll be better then any new one and my neighbor (or anyone else for that matter) can't just cruise down to the dealer and buy one too.

Thanks for the welcome, I live in the Okanagan in BC and every one here has crew cabs (new ones), so thats part of my reason for this rebuild, but mostly because I always liked these trucks and when this one came up I decided it's time to start. It'll be a long process but I will keep every one posted.

Welcome from Wisconsin!!!

The best part about building your own truck is the fact that no one else will ever have one like it....and its PAID FOR!!!!!
No need to worry about the banker repoping it if you loose your job!

A lot of younger farmers around here laugh at my old '72 flatbed, but the older ones don't. They know that "new" its always better.

Welcome to the site.
