Ford engine compartments were originally body color, at least the firewalls were. I don't know how true to original you want to be, when I repaint mine I'm spraying everything that's not on the outside or in the cab semi-gloss or gloss black. It's more to protect than to make pretty.

The bottom of the hood and the firewall were the body color, the inner fenderwells and radiator support were semi-gloss black.

HOLY SMOKES!! Who is that lucky SOB?! Only 300+ miles in 30 years?! That truck should have been placed in a museum!

I was thinking to myself as I looked at it that it was one hell of a concours restoration, but then I saw the affadavit! Sheez!

:yt:

I looked at those pictures and fainted. I woke up in a pool of drool, pulled myself back up in my chair, looked at the pictures again and had some kind of seizure!

Please don't post pictures like that again, please, Im BEGGING YOU!

My girlfriend is going to ban me from this site if just one more time she sees me flop out of my chair, fall on the floor and start doing the land salmon.

ok, she's gone from the room, maybe post just one more.

It was on E-bay a while back. If I recall, the story was a gentleman bought it, then was soon after diagnosed with some sort of illness. Possibly eyesight related. Anyway, it sat virtually unused forever, then was sold or traded to a car dealership by a relative. It was in perfect condition. I saved alot of the pictures from it too when I saw it.

Wow. I bet the dealer screwed them on it, too... probably gave them like $5,000-$8,000 on trade-in or something stupid. Wonder how much it sold for on eBay??
