Classic. I love itezernut9mm wrote:those are good reasons.Kiamors wrote:I'm gonna keep the manual steering for a few reasons. 1) because the truck came like that and I have always know it like that for as long as I can remember. (It was my grandpas turck before my dads and mine.) 2) I like bragging about how my truck has armstrong steering. 3) It keeps my mom and my grilfriend from wanting to drive it. 4) I'm broke and lazy so if it doesn't need fixing then its put on hold for a long time.
Here is another reason. Much better turning radius with Armstrong Steering but parking lots are biatch.

re: steering, manual vs. power
I didn't used to give a darn if it was power or manual, but as I get older I appreciate the power more. Power is a butt saver in parking lots, backing trailers, or turning around on dead ends. My 69 has p/s and I like it, but I notice when driving the '67 which is manual it seems to track better and I get more positive road feel in the steering wheel. But maybe that's just me, I dunno.

its funny that one of you say you leave it manual steering so your mom and girlfriend wont want to drive it!! LOL!!!!! i have the hydraulic power assit on mine, with the ram with four hose fittings on it? but i dont have a pump, or hoses, or a powere steering gear box, trucks been kinda pieced together! i have left it the ways it is without to many complaints, except that at a standstill, its HARD to turn. another reason i leave it, is so my BOyFRIEND wont want to drive it! plus me being a petite 5'8", and 135 lbs soaking wet in all my clothes, its awesome to see the looks on the guys's face when i tell them i handle my truck with armstong steering and 40" tires!!

Manual steering doesn't bother me much unless I'm going to Home Depot. Friggin' tight parking makes me sweat!

You don't have to go to the gym to stay in shape you drive an old Ford truck>>>>
My first commmercial driving job was in a 76 Kenworth cabover with manual steering and what I swore was a 72" wheel. Now THAT was a workout!
