Mystery MC no pushrod retainer?

Post by oldschoolrods »

I had spoken to keith about this a while back and hadn't got around to posting it. For my powerbrakes I cannot find a pushrod retainer clip anywhere, I have removed the snap ring on the back of the MC. Here are some pics. Any help would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks -pat

Most pushrods don't have a retainer clip, the rod from the booster just shoves into the mc.

Wait, I see what's going on. You're going from manual to power. The manual pushrod has the retaining clip attached to the pushrod, just pull it out of the mc. It will take some force, don't fall on your butt! I'd reassemble the mc with the snap ring and stick the mc in a vice, then start pulling on the pushrod, it WILL come out.
