Wiper has too much travel

Post by theogre5150 »

The wiper on the drivers side has too much travel. Instead of stopping at the bottom of the glass it keeps going until it hits the cowl of the truck. Is there an adjustment for this?

where does it stop at the top, you may have to pull it off and reset it on the gears back a few teeth.

yes that is the way to do it. just remove it from the splined gear thing and move it on way or the other to properly adjust its travel.

It's also possable that the bushings on the inner workings need replacment. I'd try the readjustment, as mentioned already, first. If that doesn't work then you need to get up under the dash.
