loose nut on the shock stud.allowing it to vibrate and move around. same principle as a loose lugnut. they will oval out your stud holes.

40 years of being rode hard and put away wet. Better than many, seams atleast a good number of 70's and 80's chevs tear the chock mounts out of the frame. A little ovaling in 40 years ain't such a bad thing in comparison.

Yep, them Chebbys also good for the steering gear breaking the frame. Can't remember how may of those frames I have had to repair in the fleet over the years, while only a couple Ford frames.

Just like a cheby to fall apart and leak fluids. If you look under a cheby with over 100,000 mi and look under a ford with over 100,000 the odds are the cheby is going to have all types of fluids dripping and seeping out of every nook and crevis. While the ford may have a leak or two but the hole underside isn't covered in sludge and crap. This is just something I have personaly noticed with customers vehicles that come in for body work and I have to crawl under it for one reason or another.

Hey Banjo. I just found out about that there are 3 junk yards that I didn't know about around here that have nothing but Fords. Maybe one day you and ol Otis can come down and we'll do some junkin'.

Sounds good Eric, but it'll be after Otis gets out of rehab (front end rebuilt/disc conversion)! Or might drive my daily (F150), that's good to know my buddy has his first car (still) a 70 Maverick and he's always wanting to hunt ford parts too...Banjo.
