67 Only Pedals. 68-72 Do Not Swap.

Post by FoMoCo »

Hey all. I recently obtained a nice set of 68 pedals. Thanks GT-Racer! I wanted to replace my worn 67's and get rid of the screwy 67 only brake light switch. When I installed power brakes I had to drill two extra holes in the 67 pedals to account for the extra two booster braked hole. When the 68 pedals arrived they had the extra nuts welded in for power brakes, sweet! I sand blasted and painted the 68's then installed them. The holes for the booster setup matched, same with the column. However, after mounting the pedals I noticed the foot-end of the pedals were only a few inches from the floor. I measured to find the pivot shaft to be about 5 inches from the firewall on the 68, and 3 3/4 inches on the 67. When I installed the powerbrakes I had to cut the booster input about an inch because it was to long. I guess I wouldn't had have to cut it with the 68 assembly. The clutch however seems to need a different Z-bar or longer clutch fork pusher. Hope this helps someone.
