Yeah, it's a crappy job for sure! If you do try it, let me know how it works. I'm all for anything making the job easier!

I haven't tried the style that you have linked but I have found this style stripping disc works very well and takes it down to bare metal really fast. Hard to tell from the picture but they are not the thin green or red 3m abrasive pads. These are about an inch thick and are hard and porous resin based fiber discs. Expensive but I could get a panel the size of a hood done with one depending on the paint buildup.

I've bought the new purple 3/M finger disc and would say that they are extremely aggressive, compared to the black stripping disc. The key to making these things last along time is to run them at low rpms. Just enough speed to remove the material.

Those are what I use too...and they do work well. I've seen the kind that mljjones67 was asking about, but they're not available locally or I would have tried one...since I think I've tried just about everything available. But at twice the price, they'd better last at least twice as long! If you decide to give one of these a shot, definitely update this thread and let us know your impressions.

I bought the same style wheel also. I got it through TP tools. Works great for surface to mild rust.
