Anyone got a 1-2-3 step guide to redoing the drip rail caulk?
After you dig out the old is it best to get fresh paint back in before caulking or just caulk it first then paint?

Depends on whether or not you want it like the factory had it. If so, and you want the seam sealer to match the paint, apply the seam sealer first and then the paint.

They do make a "clear" caulking too. I think it was self leveling also. Saw it in an "HotRod" issue. But if you're going to paint the truck anyway, might as well apply new stuff, then paint. Then you can sand any messes you make.

I'm not ready for a paint job yet, just wanted to fix the caulk in the interim to make sure I don't develop any rust issues. For that small area, i can just brush or rattle can it. Thanks!

DuPont makes a self leveling seam sealer we use and it worked well we even sealed in the cowl before painting ! I used a 3/8 clear hose about 4 ft. long and slipped in to the hole for the windshield wiper and i painted inside in the same manner it went slow but it worked
