can't figuar it
ok I've been having brake troubles on my 67 for a bit and i finally thinking that the brake drums went bad replaced the front ones. The rear ones i haven't had a problem with yet anyways i replaced the drums and tightened the adjusting screw to where the shoes barely rub before they catch when brake is applied. So i got in to take it for a test drive and my brake light (the one that shines red down by the emergency brake releace thing, is still on and i can't figuar out why. so thats my first question WHY and then my scound question is my clutch was fine for awhile and then i got in to move the truck pushed it in and it didn't come up like it was surposed to. why is that?

I gave up and unplugged the wire for the brake warning light.

The switch sould reset itself if all is working right. I would remove the switch fron the distibution block and shoot a little WD-40 in there and make sure that slider is working.
The clutch soulds unrelated. It sounds like the bushings in the peddle are going bad and causing it to bind a little.

Your wheel cylinders are leaking. Did you rebuild the ones you had or replace them completely?

re: can't figuar it
When you rebuilt them, did you hone the cylinders out?
Considering the low price of the complete cylinders, I'd just replace them rather than messing around with a rebuild. Not worth the effort anymore.

It's that box-looking thing at the end of the steering column.Nickabocker wrote:...one more question how do i know what box my sterring box is?

OH! You meant what KIND?

Is it power or manual? Since it's a '67, it should be a manual box, unless someone's installed a PS setup. The manual boxes were all Bendix. Bendix also made a power steering box for Ford for a couple years starting in '68, after than they went with the Saginaw box.
