Post by rjewkes »

ok good question i have my '72 F.O.R.D. 100 Ranger XLT 8' Has Minimal Rusting most beeing in the core support and the Bed(odd Though it is like those razor commercials vs the nair one side clean and unrusted/the other sverely rusted  :D).And the driver side (by the way from 1900 something to now what cuases the driverside only rusting seen on all ford models?)Cab Mount. Q:can you replace the mount without body off? beside the fenders?

Im not sure of it, but I see no reason you couldnt replace one without removing the cab. You would need the fender off to get to it and prop up the side of the cab you are working on. I havent done it, but I believe it could be done if you are willing to crawl under the truck to remove the old welds and weld the new panel in place.

Yes you can replace the front cab mounts without removing the cab. I pulled the front clip of and welded square tubeing to brace the front of the cab. However, It would be alot easyer to at least tilt the cab back. I also had the engine out of the truck. Be sure you brace the cab well. Take measurements of everything. This will effect the body lines amoung other things.
