Rust repair
A buddy of mine acquired a 67 'Stang for $2,000.00 cause it needed body work. There are 2 bad rust spots on the rear quarter and one of them has rusted through. How can I fix this right, can I just wire-wheel it and fill the hole with bondo, or do I need to cut and weld it
The hole is about 1 inch in circumference.

i'd think bondo with that cloth they have behid it would work but would also reinvite the rust in just a few years. gettinga pannel from another stang or from aftermarket and welding would work best.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

re: Rust repair
put some duct tape over it
no really though, you need to do a "patch" panel at the very least.

O.K. I'll call N.P.D. Tomorrow and order some skins. There's also a hole on the c pillar by the rear window.

Not sure if you watch Musclecar on spike, but they repaired a C panel on a Charger a week or two ago and had a lot of great ideas and showed all the things he did wrong in the process.RedneckTexan wrote: O.K. I'll have to get some pics of my front fenders on the '72 where the PO filled the rust holes with bondo, each one was a good fist size lump of it and it was still rusting real good behind it. I am still trying to finesse the bondo on my new fenders that I welded up.
