85 suspension?

Post by Pipes71 »

Hey guys,
I know that the easy swap to upgrade disk brakes and power steering is to grab them off a 73-79 f150, but a friend of mine called me today and is offering to give me a 85 f150 he has. It runs good, has air(hmmmm) but the body is all beat up. He said its mine if I want it and he will even haul off the left over scrap when I'm done. I know its not a "bolt on" and I'd have to drill some new holes at the very least, but was wondering if the frame width were close enuff to give it a try.I was thinking if it was I'd go ahead and try it out..would only be wasting my time..but if its free and works..well I could be a step closer to getting there.

Nope. Frame is 6" wider in 1980 and up trucks.
