I use to use Naval jelly. It works really good especially if your rims have some rust. If no rust, just soap and water.

I have tried everything that they sell at stores and nothing is cleaning them. I will try naval jelly. I talked to my dad and he will buy some tomorrow.

Ospho will cut through the oxidation and corrosion, then just polish as normal. It is avalable at most hardware stores, but I got mine at Ace Hardware.

I use diluted hydroflouric acid labeled "brite-lume" to clean the nasty stuff then polish with aluminum polish and a buffer. I got a few gallons of the hydroflouric from a guy who worked at a place that cleaned semi tractor trailers. Don't get it on your hands or you won't have hands anymore.
If you just want them to look clean and be done with them quick just get some coarse scotch brite pads.
