seam sealer question

Post by dotcentral »

I was at NAPA and bought some 3M seam sealer. I wanted to use it to caulk some sheetmetal seams in my cab. I was reading the directions, and it said it was not for interior use and to use part # ____ instead.

I will take it back I guess, but what's the difference? Fumes from the sealer? Somehow it doesn't hold up in interior usage? Something else?

I always figured exterior stuff was better. I don't like stuff that says "interior use only".

That's like saying strong enough for a man, but PH balanced for a woman. If I was the interior of your truck I'd be p*ssed. I'd say don't give me that halh-ass girly interior grade crap! I need my exterior caulking fix!

I bought some interior/exterior seam sealer at Advance. I'll try to remember to post how it holds up.
