Cab interchangeability, A bit off topic though

Post by unimog »

I understand I am a bit off but I thought some of you Ford guys would know this...
I have a 89 F700 with the 6.6L "tractor" diesel engine. My cab is getting pretty rough and I would like to replace it with a crew cab, It looks like the same cab was used way up into the 90s and maybe the late 90s with the "big" trucks, It seems like the later the year the nicer the interiors are.
Also I plan to swap the 6.6 for a v8 detroit so the lack of a dog house inside the cab or the split seat for the shifter should be no problem. SO what year model 1/2-3/4-1 ton cabs would fit up to the F700 front sheet metal?
I have looked and found no readily available info on this series on the web.
Thanks
Craig

If they're anything like bumpsides the front cab mounts are completely different. You can surely make anything work, but how easily is the question.

Thanks Average, I did assume I would have to fabricate the body to frame mounts, I am concerned mostly about the front sheet metal mating up with the cab.
