Prober way to touch up?

Just dipping my big toe into the ocean of paint and body work for the first time..absolutely no experience.

I bought some colormatched paint in spray cans from a specialty shop in Michigan and am going to start doing small touch ups and rust control.

For instance: Nickel sized bubble just above bottom ranger trim front of passenger door.

I assume scrape the bubbled paint off but what's next?

Sand? Filler? Primer? Can someone provide a short how to for this?

more than likely, thats rust under there, not just bad paint. grind the area down (to rid the rust) feather the edges out, prime, feather that into the paint thats already there, and the spray it.

This is what I would do anyways, it may not be the "right way" but that's what I have done in school a while back. Wait on a few more responses to be safe.

Yeah, I'd pull the door panel off first to make sure it's not eating from the inside out because you may open up a big can of worms going from the outside in...

Usually for stone chips, etc without rust I'll use a hole punch and punch a hole in a peice of 3M's blue painters tape and lay that over the chip. Then spray the paint from the can into the cap and let it sit for a couple minutes to thicken. Then use a Qtip and dab the paint into the chip until it overflows. Wait a half hour and repeat. Pull the tape and let it setup for about a week and then work the paint down even with a high speed buffer and buffing compound. I have to do this with the fiberglass hood on the mustang about twice a year.
