Body Mounts
Anyone have any good ideas on how to replace the rubber body mounts without taking the cab off of the frame? I can get the bolts out but can't get the mount to seperate. Do they screw togeather? Thanks in advance.

Mounts or bushings? For the mounts, I'd definitely spend the few extra $$$ and get the Dennis Carpenter repops. They're much stronger than the stamped steel versions, and still have the factory appearance.GT-Racer wrote:where's the best place to buy new mounts, has anyone had good or bad experiences with them?

I got both the front cab bushings and radiator support bushings from LMC, and while the bushings themselves are fine and will work, the bolt they supply with each is threaded wrong. One was too long overall and the other wasn't threaded up far enough. Here's a comparison of the LMC pieces and the stock factory pieces:

re: Body Mounts
Nah, I just reused the factory bolts. Since I'd parted out several trucks I was able to assemble a full set of bolts that weren't totally rusted or stripped out.

re: Body Mounts
you'll have to lift it some, maybe block it up a little w/ some wood.
