Side Trim Removal Question

Post by farmtruckman »

What is the easy way to remove the side trim (bed, fender)? Do I need a special tool or what?

Clips are held in by a nut on the back. Remove those so you don't risk bending the trim. On either end of any given piece, there might be a screw or bolt. You'll have to get to the backside of the panels to see for sure, just take your time and don't start yanking and pulling on anything. Should come right off if you removed all nuts.

Yep, virtually all the trim on these trucks is held on with a small nut on each end and then just snapped onto plastic clips in the middle. You just have to find the nuts on each end, remove them, and then carefully unsnap the middle section from the plastic clips.

on the bed front on each side is usauly a rubber plug that when removed allows acess to the nut on the front of the boxes trim attachment point.

its there on each sides side of the box on the inside.
