supercab questions

Post by aerobb »

First Post from an old ford guy.

I've owned several older ford trucks, from 69 to 79, but all Std cab vehicles. I'm currently looking at a 78 exteded cab F250 4x4. The Cab is in decent shape but it's running a flatbed. I'd like to go back to a std bed but I'm not sure what the differences were. Is this a 6ft be or 8ft. Were the cab mounts in the same locations on the supercab? any info on Cab/bed/frame differences would be great

Thanks

Even though we are a site dedicated to 67-72 "bumpsides", I think someone might have your answer.

It should be a longbed. I don't think ford made a shortbed supercab option 4x4. The crewcab 4x4's were all shortbeds though. 78-79 4x4's are very easy to find beds for since ford used the same rear frame dimensions as the 73-79 2wd trucks. You can use any 73 to 79 F-100 through F-350 2wd long wide bed.
