Ok another newbie question, how do you get the crome FORD cover off of the tailgate on the Ranger model? And yes I am this stupid :D

They were riveted on the replacement tailgate I bought and I had to drill them out.

mak yours sounds like the custom/explorer/sport custom deal.

if it is the full gate cover panel(that is it fills the whole cnter of the gate then its should be screwed in with philips head. but you'll probably have to drill it out anyways as on my last two ranger/ranger xlt gates the screws were seized up.

I never noticed there was a difference until you mentioned it. I see the diff styles in some of the factory lit pics on this site.

Its the full coverage one, so the screws are all the way through to the back side of the tail gate?

Either Phillips-head screws or rivets...I've seen both. Just drop the tailgate and look at the back side...you'll see 'em.

I had both on my old tailgate.
Incidently, my NOS tailgate arrived a few days ago minus the trim mounting holes.

It was the screws just like he said, and just like the everyone said I had to drill them out too. Thanks for the info guys. :D
