Cab seams *added picture*
I have a 74 ford f100, i realize this is a 67-72 site but the trucks are very similar and you guys know what you are doing. I was wondering it is ok to remove cab seems. there is a lot of rust on my seams and it would be easier to completly remove the seam instead of making a new one.

re: Cab seams
You can remove the seam sealer and carefully weld up he seam, if that's what you are asking.

Looks like from the picture you are talking about the firewall. I have quite a bit of rust there myself. I plan to cut out the bad stuff and form new panels out of a piece of clean metal. I havent decided yet as to whether I will make it look stock or eliminate all those "seams" and make a smooth firewall panel.

I personally am going to "shave" mine when I get to the point (if i do) of REALLY building it how I want it. I think it was purely install based, as far as why they are done like that. Just made it quicker/easier for the production lines.

You could bead roll the patch panels if you shave it and need to patch a new firewall in, that would give you plenty of strength and look good IMO.
