I got my cab mounts from DC the other day. They look pretty sweat, a perfect match.
Now, the question is, how do I install them? I am on the fence weather I will pull the cab. I at least know I don’t plan on that right away, so I would like to have the truck “riding on all foursâ€Â

Well, you'll definitely have to do a little disassembly, but you don't necessarily have to remove the cab. You'll at least have to disconnect the front sheetmetal at the firewall so you can jack the front of the cab up, though removing the front clip as a unit would make things a little easier IMO, but it's not necessary. You'll also have to disconnect the steering column from the steering box and slide the steering column up into the cab a couple inches.
Then just remove the front two cab hold-down bolts and jack the front of the cab up. Cut the old cab mounts out, clean up the bottom of the floorpan with a grinder and weld the new cab mounts in. I don't recall for sure, but I don't believe the DC mounts come drilled around the perimeter for spotwelding. If not, you can either drill the holes and spotweld like the factory did, or just weld around the perimeter edge.
I make it sound easy, and it's really not that hard...but it IS a major PIA.

Ok, wasn't sure about the jacking part. Since the mounts haven’t slipped, I was hoping to support the cab, cut out and put new in place.
I do like the idea of removing the front, as that is where all my body work needs to be done anyways. And pulling the column gives me and excuse to remove the wheel for restoration and fix up the horn contacts.....
I’ll post some pics of the new shiny mounts from DC when I get a sec.

If you get the old mounts off and find the frame brackets are shot, I have a set I can sell you. But to put those on you will have to remove the cab, or cut the floor pans out and weld in new ones.
