New to the group and to FORD

Post by Mr1derful69 »

Grandfather left me his beloved 1969 Ford F100 after he went on to GLORY! After spending 4 rustorious years in Pittsburgh. I got the green light to go and get it. Even after sitting for 4 years it only took a few drops of gas in the carburetor and was on its way down interstate 77 head to its new home. When I got to Fort Mill SC, the gas line busted so I left it at my mothers house for what was suppose to be a weekend which turned into 2 yrs. My mother got tired of seeing it and had it shipped to me here in Jacksonville FL and now the Project is on! Any help with suggestions with rust repair as I know nothing about welding or anything that goes with it!

Welcome from Missouri!
We really enjoy hearing the stories that go with our trucks and pics, lots of pics! :D
Working on your truck will be very rewarding and sometimes challenging, but you're in the right place to get help!
Just post your questions in the corresponding forum, Body or engine or chassis, etc. You will get help!
Oh yea, post us some pics of your project!

Welcome!

Depending on what is rusted out, you have several options.

You can fab up/weld up your own patch panel.

Buy replacement patch panels from a vendor.

Buy complete used sheet metal ie. fenders, hoods, tailgates, etc..

Find a parts truck...

So give us some pics and show us what's rusted and we'll steer you in the right direction.
