Hello from Georgia where our trucks don't rust (yeah right)!

Post by 77Moneypit »

Man what a site! I know there has to be a way to donate money to this site so I will keep looking around until I find the way. I noted in another posting that I originally bought my 77 4x4 to use for hunting and then got the bug! I am bound and determined to do my first frame off restoration. I figured it will only take me a few months, LOL. Yeah right, heck I am still buying tools and have done minimal work since I bought the truck 4 months ago. I am ready to go now and have the tools to do the job (cost more then the truck, specifically the welder). I tried to keep up with Keith with the tools used but each of his projects seems to mention yet another tool! Well except for the angle grinders, they are universal. Anyways I am here to stay and am going to bug the living crud out of those who can lend a few moments to a Georgia boy (worst education system in the South so I need all I can get).

Oh I know I have a dentside and not a bumpout but I just got wind of a 68 being sold for $300.00 garage kept and only 10 miles down the road. Now I have two trucks to fix! The wife isn't going to like this.

Welcome from Texas. Nice looking truck. I'll make you a deal. We'll help you with your dentside as long as you get that bump to go with it. You know, the dentside parts will work on the bumpside.

I'm going to check out the bumpside tonight and will send pictures of it as soon as I can if she's worthy. I appreciate the welcome mat and can't say enough about this site. Keith has already responded to some of my other responses. I don't know how he does it but I really appreciate it! I'm replacing the floor boards in the 77 and cab corners this weekend before removing the cab. I already took off the bed (by myself by the way with the help of a hand truck) and will take the cab off (not by myself) once completed with the welds. Then I can get all the way to the frame and start there.

I'm open minded to all those who have experience with a frame off so I don't screw up to bad. Set me straight if I am doing the bassackwards. I will start my project in the project forum to keep you guys/gals up to date with my progress.

Welcome from Florida! GA must be a good bump state...that's where I bought mine and drove it home! In fact, my wife calls her Georgia!

Hope the bump works out for ya.

69F110 I am right down the road from Rome, GA. I live in Dallas, GA about 15 miles away. I do a lot of hunting and golfing in Rome. Thank you for the process to donate to this site. It will be well worth it as the wisdom here is priceless.
