Grey if you want to see eveery little speck of oil, Black if you don't want the oil to that noticable to others.
I prefer black because it sets off the engine so well and when the inevitable minor oil leaks start (you know the ones the bug you but are not worth the trouble to fix until they get worse) they don't stick out like a sore thumb.![FORDification Rocks! :fr:](./images/smilies/icon_FORDification.gif)

If you are going to drive this truck a lot, definately paint it black! Gray will not only show any oil leak on the engine, but it will also get a bunch of road grime and tar on it, and when you drive in the rain, a bunch of that dirty water from the cars in front of you will darken it.
If this is just a fair weather weekend cruiser, though, the gray would look really nice and clean.
Mine's a daily driver, though, so it's getting painted black

I'm going to coat my engine compartment, including the transmission tunnel and inside hood, with Spectrum Firewall. That will sound deaden and heat insulate the area. Spectrum Firewall will stick like glue to POR-15.
