o/t, anyone know anything about chebby frames?
my dad has a suburban but he hit a lightpost behind the back door, all the frame and running gear is fine, just the body, so hes wondering... my grandma has a 93 chevy half ton that the frame is rotted out, the suburbans a 90, can the body from the half ton be switched over to the suburban with all the same running gear, also the half ton is 6 bolt 4x4, the suburban is 2x4 5 bolt. does anyone know anything about this or if it would work? the half ton is lwb reg cab, the suburban is lwb as well. thanks for any info in advance, just hate to find out the hard way

Chevrolet began changing their truck frames in the 1988 Model Year. 88 to 98 half ton pick ups have the same frame, but the suburbans ran the older truck frame until 92, when they changed to the 88-98 truck frames.

i read somewhere in google that in 92 they added 2 inches in wheelbase, making it 133.5" instead of 131.5" thanks for the info, are you saying it wont bolt up?

Another good forum site to check out is www.coloradok5.com they are really knowlegeable about blazers but I have got a lot of great info from them about suburbans and trucks. it is a pay site but you can post free in most of the sub topics. Good luck.
