71 XLT Transmission

Post by XLT »

The transmission is off the truck and will be delivered to the transmission shop next week.

The truck is going to long haul cruise a 27' fixed keel sailboat, climb mountain roads and highways, granny reverse it (many times with great slope) into a lake, and granny gear the boat out of an extremely sloped mountain lake. The tranny is going to be stressed and I don't need any failure.

What questions and upgrades should I address to the shop.

Why take it to the tranny shop? A 40 year old 435 is in it's prime. Should have no problem towing a little boat like that.
